- גַּעְגַּעIthpa. אִתְגַּעְגַּע, אִיגַּעְגַּע ch. same, to roll ones self, wallow. Lam. R. to II, 2 as long as that hen מִתְגַּעְגְּעָא בקיטמא wallows in the ashes (as Israel lives in its religious element). Koh. R. to XI, 1 מנין מְגַעְגְּעִין בדמא clothes rolled in blood (suspicious of murder).Tanh. Aḥaré 3 (ref. to Job 39:30) חמי אפרוחיו מגעגעין בדםוכ׳ he sees his brood wallowing in blood (Aaron sees his sons dead), and is silent; Lev. R. s. 20 ראה … באַדְמָא Ar. (ed. באדמה); Pesik. Aḥaré p. 171b> מְעַגְעֲגִין באדמה (Ms. Carmoli מגעגעין באדמא). Targ. I, II Gen. 49:11 מעגעגין באדמא.Trnsf. to enjoy ones self, play. Targ.
